“Is It Raining Outside”

Today is the day we have reach down
deep inside who we are and stop the pain,
the degradation of our beloved humanity,

trying to step in out of the human storm.

We shall shine like the brightest star
with all the intensity of a sunshine hero,
to soar on the wind of change with faith,

trying not not to get drenched in ignorance.

Our faith in who we are helping us understand
is what we need to see the light of a brand new day,
weathering bigotry at our world's diverse doorstep,

protecting us from the deluge of hungry wolves.

Today is the day our faithful wings must spread
on the winds of world change to stop the bleeding,
while not using miraculous love a s a band aid,

but letting it shine in the glory of its greatness,

as an all encompassing umbrella in our fragile society,
to fend off the thunderstorm of hateful detrimental actions,
that have us scurrying around like rats on a sinking ship.
