“The Kiss”

It is but a kiss of love,
one kiss of life’s crimson blood,
engulfed in the fire of heated desire.

The kiss of a torrid lover,
in the ecstasy of being human,
sweat to be shed, salt upon the lips.

So much more than this,
this kiss of passionate bliss.

I see shattered stars
in my very wicked dreams,
sucking me into a void of contempt,

The desirous smoke clears,
bridges burned, moving forward
is the death of the world far beyond.

With no kiss like lingering smoke,
no sweat to be tasted upon the night.

Bestow upon me one kiss of revival,
this kiss upon my blue lips at death’s door
is sincerely necessary for our love’s survival.

Oh what bliss shall we miss,
without this, this most romantic kiss.
