“Only A Dreamer’s Dream”

Ages have gone by
since I have walked these streets.
To look at my past
I knew the the sorrow wouldn’t last.

If I were to keep anything
it would be my dignity,
because without your dignity
you aren’t worth a penny.
I have living only a dreamer’s dream.

Many say to succeed
you have to soar with the eagles,
walk with the champions,
to live, laugh,
to sing, sacrifice. . .
even to die for what you believe.

I believe when the sun rises
in the morning a new life begins,
a new dream has begun.
To see the impossible dream,
to hear the impossible promise,
is only a dream a dreamer can dream.

I believe when the sun sets
the dreams and the wishes come true.
Never let these feelings
pass without a second look.

Nobody can take your dignity,
nobody nobody can steal your heart and soul.
nobody can shatter a dreamer’s dream.
