“Journey Of A Lover’s Silence”

I cry at the loss
of this precious thing
called love,
like the loss of the air
that I breathe,

or the crimson liquid
escaping my blue rivers
to my heart, as I
wander like a wounded animal
of the world.

Follow footprints
deep into the Winter woods
of a dead romance,
as I bleed out
like a sacrificial lamb.

Taste the iron
in my parched mouth,
hard and bitter,
like losing passion’s touch,
a romance burned down.

Leave me not alone
in the world,
with shattered thoughts,
one more kiss
to save my dying spirit. . . .

upon the wind,
as it cries in echos of silence.
