“Through Mercy There Is Strength”

A weak spot in everyone’s armor,
a kink in the soul of man,
shattered like glass of a burned out home.

Smoke lingering in humankind
searches for its Superman,
even though kryptonite is its downfall.

A green icon eating away like cancer
strangling the throats,
of all that is true human decency.

The enemy of love is hate’s contempt
for its desire to breathe,
in the spirit of the world’s stage.

A weak link in the chain of society
as the sins of man,
committed in the Eden of long ago.

As we feed our gluttony for golden roads
we lust for glimmering skin,
as the enemy of intimacy’s tenderness.

Instead of mercy for the weak
a button of anger is pushed,
we’re the weakest link in the human chain.
