I remember you
because you are beautiful,
because you are human
in the chaotic world we live in,
as your intense light blinds my soul.
I remember you
because of your compassionate heart,
because you burn
with the intensity of a thousand suns,
warming our existence with your courage.
I remember you
because you make me feel human,
in this cruel world
where humanity sometimes falters,
fading like a lingering, haunting memory.
I remember you
because you are rhyme and reason,
because your heart
guides you to greater things,
to a sincere place called life’s beauty.
