“POET”

Tears upon
the  ancient parchment,
Of deeds
good and evil.


Tales of
heroic, grandiose events,
All captured
by more than words,
So deep
and eloquent of the soul.


Humanity
wondrous in verse,
Mankind 
in noble stanza.


Emotion
burns so vibrantly,
Like a fire
of soul's desirous love.
Eternal
of all humanity,


The universe
all that is living or dead.
Writing 
to record the deeds of man,


The passionate
heart of ecstasy glistening.

Shattered dreams
of unrequited love so tender,
Scribes
of the human condition.
