Love is an aching need
embedded in the human soul,
until the day you die.
Hungering to be released
with but a life saving kiss of truth,
bestow it upon me,
as I wander aimlessly
on this Earth searching for intimacy,
all I can find are broken hearts,
shattered by the heavy hand
of what life burdens our spirits with,
lack of trust in the human soul.
On so many stormy nights
my tears flow like anguish to the ocean
surrounding my desire’s finality.
Can you give me the love
I need to survive loneliness of the world,
or will I close my eyes hopeless,
void of an ounce of tenderness. . .
until the lid is closed on my life’s story. . .
